The Galápagos’ only fresh water lagoon 'El Junco' is again free of introduced species
This program was carried out together with seminars for local residents to teach them about the significance of keeping invasive species away from fragile environments like Galápagos. Galapagos National Park personnel were able to eradicate Tilapias with the use of natural chemicals, from El Junco, the only fresh water lagoon in the Galápagos. [+]
Climate of Galapagos
For this time of the year we should expect a climate change with the arrival of colder waters. This has not occurred this year. The Sea Surface Temperature (SST) remains in high figures, and this is evident with the rainy days- followed by sunny days. [+]
